Cesar Chavez Movie Opens

Cesar Chavez devoted his adult life to promoting and protecting the rights of workers.  Help spread the story of this civil rights leader who inspired families to stand up for their human rights and the rights of future generations.

The fate of a movie is decided in the opening weekend.  Get together with friends and family to see this film this weekend (March 28-30) and ensure it will be available in more cities to spread this important story.  There are links to find the movie in your area and information about hosting a movie meet up at this link.

Happy 110th Birthday Dr Seuss!

Happy Birthday to Theodor Seuss Geisel, who was born 110 years ago today!

Our first community Read Across America event was a great success yesterday!  For four hours, children and families in Chico enjoyed stories read, activities facilitated, information provided and popcorn served by BCTA and Chico Unified TA teachers!  We look forward to another great event next year.

Tomorrow is the classroom celebration of Read Across America.  Dr. Seuss and life-long reading will be celebrated in classrooms across our programs.

Remember to thank a teacher for preparing literate, engaged citizens who will grow to be decision makers in California!
